Print Manager Plus software does not have an impact on compliance with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) for covered entities. Print Manager Plus Software does not collect or transmit any information regarding the content of print jobs and thus has no way of accessing or transmitting electronic protected health information (ePHI) as defined by HIPAA.
Under HIPAA Security requirements: Administrative safeguards [142.308 (a)], and physical safeguards [142.308 (b)].
Print Manager Plus Software does not give access to electronic protected health information or control access to it. With regards to Technical Safeguards, Print Manager plus software does not give access to electronic protected health information or does collect any information regarding the content of print jobs. The software does not save or transmit electronic protected health information.
As far as the physical safeguards, Print Manager can be installed on any supported Windows operating systems: Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 and Clustered Server. Windows Workstation Vista, Seven, 8 and 8.1, and should not be installed on a system with ePHI.
