How to Print through the Web Portal from a Chromebook.

Scenario:
The Web Printing feature of the Print Manager Plus 9.0 Web Portal, is available for customers with Premium edition or later.

The following will guide you through submitting documents for printing Gdoc files, as well as PDF and Microsoft Word formatted documents from a Google Chromebook.

Printing a native .gdoc, .gsheet or .gslides file from a Chromebook:
The following in a step by step example covers printing a native Google Document file.

  1. Log Into the Web Portal from the Chromebook


  2. Navigate to printing by clicking the 'Print' icon from the navigation bar

  3. Click the 'Select File to Upload' button.
    This will allow access to your local files, as well as the 'My Drive' files stored online.
    In our example we select the GDOC title "Three Blind Mice.gdoc"
  4. Google Drive Authentication - First Time Only
    If this is your first time printing a native Google document file, then you will be prompted to allow the Web Portal access to your Google Documents.

    Click the link titled 'Open Google authentication window'


    Accept and allow 'Print Manager Plus' to manage the files in your Google Drive


    You will receive a an Authenticate Code.  This needs to be copy and pasted into the Print Manager Plus authentication prompt




  5. Once Authenticated, the file will be Uploaded, and can be selected for printing.


  6. Clicking Next, will allow you to select a printer, options and submit the job.

 

Future Uploads and Printing:
The authentication process will not be required for future Google Document uploads.

 

Printing regular PDF, Microsoft Word, and other Documents

The following in a step by step example covers printing standard files from a Google Chromebook.

  1. Log Into the Web Portal from the Chromebook


  2. Navigate to printing by clicking the 'Print' icon from the navigation bar

  3. Click the 'Select File to Upload' button.
    This will allow access to your local files, as well as the 'My Drive' files stored online.
    In our example we select an existing PDF file named 'PrintDocument.pdf' 


  4. The file will be Uploaded without any authentication, and can be selected for printing:


  5. Clicking Next, will allow you to select a printer, options and submit the job.
